Are we really policing kindness now?

A few years ago, I was at the Starbucks drive-through. A common Monday morning occurrence. I was tired. I was grouchy. I hadn’t prepared my meals for the work day ahead of me.

I ordered my breakfast and lunch and drove up to hand the cashier my credit card.
